You have selected the claw of a Rugosus or commonly known as a Ruggie or Rug.
The Rugosus is often confused with the Compressus. Use the following characteristics to confirm that your crab is a Rugosus.
First compare the armor leg
Next compare the eyes, shield and stitch marks.
The eye stalk may be white or colored.
Nearly all Rugosus have a black spot on the front of their eyestalk.
Their stitch marks are pronounced.
The black mark on their shield is often a wide band that runs from one side to the other.
Rugosus come in many, many colors.
The claw of the Rugosus often has a white stripe down it, dividing the color.
