You have selected the Clypeatus, or commonly known as a Caribbean or simply PP (purple pincher).
Clypeatus are often pale in color as small crabs, darkening to a deep maroon as large crabs.
Their pincher is also purple, but often on large crabs the purple disappears and the crab is a uniform color all over.
Clypeatus are the most common of the hermit crabs available in the United States.
